I first met today’s featured groom, Michael, through my commercial and event photography business over at Reese Moore Photography: Michael works at swanky downtown hot spot Bourbon n’ Bubbles on King Street where we did a shoot in advance of the official opening. (Check out my work from that shoot here!)
He and his fiance, Robyn, were planning a short and sweet intimate wedding at the James Island County Park Edisto Hall and while they weren’t looking for the full traditional photography she-bang for their wedding photography, they did just want some quality captures of their ceremony, family, and candid moments for a couple hours during their wedding day.
The couple hung out with friends and family before the ceremony, then said “I do” under the gorgeous oak trees behind their venue in a short but heartfelt ceremony. You’ll notice the groom’s adorable border collie roaming about the vows looking for pets and belly rubs.
After the official business wrapped up, we did just a couple posed photos per the couple’s preference: they really wanted to prioritize their time with their friends and family on their big day and I totally respect that. Then it was time for the first dances before the fish fry (yum) and reception.
Congrats again to Michael and Robin, I wish you both a lifetime of happiness!
Edisto Hall is a wedding and event venue located within the James Island County Park and it offers both a meadow and views of the majestic live oaks. The James Island County Park is one of the Charleston County Parks and offers a variety of activities ranging from disc golf to rock climbing, facilities, campgrounds, and cottages for the whole family to enjoy. It is also the site for Charleston’s annual Festival of Lights every holiday season.
