Summers are best spent by the sea, which makes the South Carolina Aquarium a wonderful venue for a summertime wedding with a nautical but air-conditioned vibe!
Alexandra and Tim had an intimate weekday wedding filled with laughter and tears, it was such a sweet and genuine affair. The bride got read at Hotel Bella Grace on Calhoun Street before meeting her groom in the gardens in front of the Fort Sumter Museum for their first look.
After their first look, the lovely couple took some photos with the bridal party, which included two of the groom’s children, before making their way up the ramp into the aquarium.
The South Carolina Aquarium is just such a unique venue. Not only did Alexandra and Tim’s guests enjoy epic views of the harbor (from the shelter of the overhang, as a huge thunderstorm rolled in shortly before their ceremony) but the fish tanks were such a hit. There’s nothing like having the whole joint just to yourself, and everyone loved checking out all the sea turtles and sharks.
Though they originally planned to have their ceremony outside with views of the bridge, weather changed our plans and Alexandra and Tim spoke their vows in front of their friends, family, and a beautiful tank in the front hall.
Then, after their first dances, the couple settled into a relaxed but elegant meal before the cake cutting - and have you seen the cake? How cool was that cake?!
Alexandra and Tim spent their reception chatting with guests and enjoying the moment, but they really only had eyes for each other.
Congratulations again to this wonderful couple! It was such a pleasure to share in your big day!
